10 Minutes a Day To An Extraordinary Life

10 Minutes a Day To An Extraordinary Life

Seems like everyone you talk to these days is busy, earning a living, trying to balance between work, family and friends. There is never enough time in the day to do the things you want to do. The common theme today is: “I have no time” “I can’t seem to find the time” “I ran out of time” “I don’t have time for that right now” Has the world changed? Is your life different today than when you were a child? What is causing this change in society? The one constant in life is change, although we don’t like it change is actually good for us all! It helps us grow and stretch ourselves out of our comfort zone. However for some people this can be stressful. So what can we do to change our outlook and appreciate life in our very busy schedule? How can we eliminate stress? There are many books on this subject, but for most of us we are looking for something quick! sound familiar? Over the years I have read many books on how to meditate and how to relax the mind, all great books. However it requires a time commitment and discipline to implement each day. I discovered a way…would take only 10 minutes a day…I had amazing results…You can too if you do the following: 1) Gratitude, before you start your day think about all the things you are grateful for in your life, your health, family, friends, your job, ability to have shelter and food each day, etc… 2) Prayer, there are people in your life that may need a prayer,...
How to Inspire Your Team

How to Inspire Your Team

In today’s world it doesn’t matter if you own a business or you work for a company, on of the biggest challenges you  are faced with is how to motivate your team. Whatever industry I have been involved with I always been obsessed with being the best no matter what I had to do, I would start early in the morning and work late into the night… But not everyone operates like that, I learned that the hard way. Having too high of an expectation for people on your team can cause you to get frustrated. Some people will get discouraged and quit! You never know what make other people happy, accept them for who they are. If you are involved in Network Marketing , there could be people on your team that have never recruited a single person but are very happy to be part of the team. They enjoy going to the events and meet other people from around the world, or perhaps they just enjoy the products. Have you ever tried to motivate someone and they actually did less work? One of my mentors taught me to never motivate but to inspire, when you motivate that comes from an external force. When you inspire you create a inward-out. Which means you inspire people by doing the action you wish they would do. People notice when you do something more than when you just say something… When I was in the construction industry I was very consistent every day, my co-workers always respected the amount of work I would produce, which inspired the people around me to...
The power of Listening

The power of Listening

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and they made you feel like your the only person in the room? It didn’t seem what you were taking about they were interested in every word you said. How did that make you feel? Like you were important, or they understood what you meant! To be a good listener you first must be a part of the conversation. Most people like to talk about themselves, however we tend to want to come right back and say something about what’s on our mind instead…Think of a conversation as energy, if the other person is speaking encourage them to keep talking, ask questions, let them feel comfortable and they will speak more openly and honestly. Begin by making eye contact, this demonstrates to your partner you are fully engaged and interested in the conversation. It has been said, follow the 80-20 rule. 80% making direct eye contact with your partner and 20% your eyes are roaming as you think about what to say. Stay in the room, No I don’t mean physically leave the room, just focus on what your partner is saying. It can be a challenge as our minds sometimes wander, which is especially hard if you are talking to someone who speaks very slow. This will help you to know when to respond which can help build rapport. Always give verbal feedback. There is nothing worse than when you are talking to someone and the just look at you and don’t say a word! How does that make you feel? A nod, smile or some other way to acknowledge...
Feel Like You’ve Hit a Wall?

Feel Like You’ve Hit a Wall?

Life can be a blessing or a challenge. Do you ever find yourself just getting up everyday and feel like you’re on a treadmill and nothing seems to change? No matter what you do every day ends up with the same results! Over time this “treadmill” can lead to a depressive condition. The good news is there are two conditions which cannot operate at the same time, when you’re frustrated and when you’re making progress. The key to happiness is progress. Have you ever noticed some people are always happy? On the other hand ever notice some people are always unhappy? If a situation comes up which is out of their control happy people find a way to look for the good while unhappy people look for the bad! Why is that?   It is directly related to their physiology. If a person spends each day with a negative physiology, that’s what will be reinforced in their life every day! We all have had challenges through out our lives, sometimes “life hits us” when we least expect it. The problem is if we focus too much on the past or look too far into the future does not change a thing, it only leads to more frustration. Just wishing things were different has never worked for anyone. We all have the power to change that by focusing on the present moment, which is where our attention must be. When you find yourself feeling like your on a treadmill…Change your physical state sit up straight in your chair, put on some music that you like, go for a walk or...
“How to Add More Friends on Facebook”

“How to Add More Friends on Facebook”

With the development of social media over the years, reaching out to more people becomes quick and easy which can lead to more potential customers and more sales for your business. I am asked this question at least once a week , how do you add more friends on Facebook? What is the secret? Truth is there are no secrets. However there a few things that will help you connect with more people…Bottom line just be yourself. One of the first things you should do before you start sending out friend requests is look at your profile, do you have a picture of yourself? People are more likely to want to be friends with you if you have a picture of yourself! What do you have on your cover photo? Pictures of landscape are nice to look at however people are looking to see who you are, put a picture of you and your family there, if you don’t have a family put a picture of you with your significant other there. When you post follow these three steps: If you and I are going to attract more followers we must provide some sort of value for people to want to follow us. Show pictures of yourself having fun, people will be attracted to you if you are having fun in your business. Document your success, post your results over the past day, week, or month. If you haven’t had success find someone in your company who has had success and post their results. This is a great way to validate what you say. Before you send out a...
“Self Help”

“Self Help”

There are many people attribute their success to what they read on a regular basis. However there are also people who have had no success! Why is that? We feed our bodies but what do we feed our minds with? Over the years I have read many books on “self help” which by the title should “help” you to be successful, right? Don’t get me wrong I am very grateful for what each author has written, and every book I have read has made a positive impact on my life. But somewhere along the line there is a missing piece to the puzzle. Why is it that two people can read the same book and have such a different result? One person reads a book and becomes wealthy, while another does not have success. Back in 2013 a friend of (we’ll call her Jane to keep her name private) mine was getting ready to retire she invested all her life earnings with a trusted investor, Jane was referred by a friend and felt she could rely on his decisions to handle the account. I can remember how excited she was to retire, and how she was going to travel. Perhaps start a business. A few months later I got a call from her telling me the man who invested her savings had disappeared, he was no where to be found, and so was the money. I can’t imagine how that must have felt. All those years of earnings disappeared! But instead of feeling sorry for herself she went out and turned her life around. Jane began reading self help...
