Walk Your Way To Fitness

Walk Your Way To Fitness

We’ve all heard the importance of exercise and the connection to a healthy lifespan, seems like every where you look these days there is an advertisement for a personal trainer or membership to a gym. Discounts and incentives for long term commitments can greatly reduce your monthly premiums as well as increase the level of resources you can have access to. Yet even with more bang-for-the-buck memberships, most people don’t take advantage of what there able to utilize whenever they go to the gym! Today we’re all working harder than ever, companies are implementing new policies which eliminate positions and add more and more tasks to less employees, the new motto in corporate America is a lean-work force. Some would say too much work and not enough people to help get things done. These new demands put pressure on employees to constantly be on their toes, however there’s nothing wrong with expecting a good day’s work out of a person, the issue is when too much work is expected on a daily basis, this leads to a burn-out situation. Needless to say when a hard day’s work is done one of the last things the average person thinks about is going to the gym…Yet one important element in life is the balance between work, family and keeping yourself healthy. Daily exercise  should be part of our routine, but for most there seems to be little if not anytime left at the end of the day to keep a proper routine. Some would say just “do-it” and get it over stop “thinking about it,” which can work for some people,...
The Power of Forgiveness

The Power of Forgiveness

To be truly free one must not let actions of an individual who’s intention is to do a wrongful action to you, become in control of your emotions by way of conscious and destructive behavior which disrupts your inner peace. To be free from thoughts of frustration and anger, we must be able to forgive. Peace cannot be found without forgiveness. It should be a daily behavior not occasional act, one must adopt forgiveness as a permanent attitude. In order to begin to forgive others we must first forgive ourselves. We live in an imperfect world full of challenges which can cause us to make a decision we might regret. Anger and frustration with a bad decision can lead to are ability to be a peace with ourselves unattainable. Energy one might have for another area in life becomes wasted on anger. Each day examples of forgiveness become lost in a sea of resentment. We are all leaders no matter where you are or what you do, everywhere you go your setting an example. Children learn not from what we say but from what we do. They see everything. Over time a habit is formed, imagine if that habit was one of forgiveness? or a lack of? Today you don’t have to look very far to see a lack of forgiveness in society, seems like there is a disconnect which is being passed on from generation to generation. Truth is you and I can make a difference, we can exercise examples of forgiveness every day! No matter what the current consciousness of society is it can be changed. But...
Time: Friend or Foe ?

Time: Friend or Foe ?

The world today is focused on time, or for the most part lack there of. For most people there’s never enough…Right? Some say you should learn time management skills. In theory sounds good, the reality is you can’t manage time. Think about it can you control the seconds, minutes and hours each day? do you believe you have the power to stop time or slow down how fast each day goes by? There are many things in life you and I can control but time is one thing we have no control over, it keeps on going no matter what we do! But you can control your “use of time” which is where we all tend to get a bit off track each day. There are only 24 hours in each day, no matter what we do that’s all we get. The average person gets up goes to a job all day comes home eats supper, spends time with family or friends, goes to bed, gets up the next day and does it all over again…The treadmill of life. Sound familiar? Ever wonder if there was a way to stretch time, perhaps get just that next thing on your list done? or have a little more time to spend with family? When you sit down and think about all the things you do each day it’s amazing there’s any “you time” at the end of the day. But if you keep track of the time on all those daily tasks you might be surprised with your findings! You might discover there are areas where time is using you instead...
Decisions Become Easier With Clear Values

Decisions Become Easier With Clear Values

Every day we need to make decisions, sometimes good sometimes bad. Needless to say it’s never good to second guess what the final call we make ends up becoming in reality. We just do it. Yet whenever a bad decision has been made, we never question why do we continue to follow the wrong path over and over again? Like walking on a treadmill, doing the same thing over and over again. Some would say it’s a matter of self control. But is it really a matter of self-control? Are we going to believe each decision is the right one every time one is made? truth is each one of us is quite different, what we desire and what we place value on. Personal values influence our decisions, whether its to avoid pain or to gain pleasure. That decision is linked to our personal values related to that which we seek!  Self-control can be limited to the individuals perception of what they deem is possible, and often times will not be a guiding force during times of uncertainty. What you believe and the standards you hold yourself accountable determines the decisions we make, in turn becomes future reality. Think about it, whats the difference between a athlete who wins a gold metal and one who does not? Both train for years, eat the same food, get the same rest, yet there is only winner, could it be one monitored what they were eating a little  closer? or slept an additional hour each day? truth is everyone is different, the level of standards we set determine how successful we become....

Life’s Pyramid of Success

The true secret of living an extraordinary life as well as long term success is balance, which for most if not all of us in today’s fast pace society is quite a challenge. That being said it doesn’t mean it’s not possible to create a life of balance and fulfillment. There are seven key elements of life which allow for a true connection with self, when that place is is found trivial issues no longer become problems but lessons. It has been said the quality of life is the quality of the language you use not only to other people but also to yourself. When “Life” hits it’s never easy, however when your in that place of balance you’ll look for solutions not problems. While it’s different for each one of us the seven areas of life which become an important element within our day. Needless to say if one becomes the focus point the six remaining will create problems to living a balanced life. The seven areas are, physical body, emotions and meaning, relationships, time, career and mission, finances contribution and spirituality. It is important to acknowledge areas of life which need improvement. It’s different for all of us. In order to improve and grow which creates more balance as well as momentum and strength. First step is to identify where you stand on each one of these areas of life. We’re the same, in order to live...
“What you Say” vs. “What you Mean”

“What you Say” vs. “What you Mean”

Whether you work for a company or work for yourself, what you say and what you mean can be the deciding factor in a persons decision to conduct business with you or not. What you say has little impact on motivating someone to take action, yet for most of us that is what we’re focused on. Recently I was asked to attend a presentation for network marketing business, at first I was not interested in entering into a business at this point, however it was a friend of mine named Joe who has made a decision to walk away from his current job so I wanted to support him any way I could. The presentation was held at a very nice venue which made all who attended feel very comfortable. We were told the presentation would last about an hour. When Joe began it was quite obvious he was following a script, his sentences were fragmented and the concept he was trying to deliver were left unfinished. People who were in attendance seemed less interested with what Joe was talking about and more interested with the refreshments being served. I began to question Joe’s decision to quit his job and whether this new venture was in his best interest. When the night was over Joe came over to me and began to voice his frustrations with people not signing up in his business. I shook his hand and encouraged him not to get discouraged, remember Joe it’s not what you say it’s how you say it…Also ask people what they like best about the presentation! He shook his head...
