I’ve been blessed to have been around people who have traveled the world, shared their knowledge, as well as lived a life of purpose. They have earned enough money to take care of their families for generations to come, they have helped people turn their lives around in a positive way while doing what they love each day truly an amazing legacy. Although some are a bit long in the tooth, most have many years to serve. Personally, I’m humbled as to how fast life goes by, time is valuable and must not be wasted.
Remember when we were kids we’d look up to our parents who were there to lead us and guide us in the right direction or an uncle, aunt, cousin, friend, teacher, coach or a public figure there are many who left their legacy for us to follow. If you study history there are thousands of people who left their mark on society. Famous sports stars to the first astronaut who landed on the moon, the list goes on and on.
While so many have done great things there have also been some who have not done humanity good, however, why not you and I? we have the ability for greatness! In life we sometimes fall into a comfort zone which we follow each day, never challenging ourselves to do more. Do you ever see a hero and imagine that was you? How about the movie rocky? Didn’t you feel the excitement when he was training and getting stronger and stronger? That’s because you have greatness within, just like Rocky, you too can unleash your greatness.
We all have a responsibility to leave the world better than we found it. Those who came before us have left their legacy for us to use today, yet our legacy is waiting to come out! We must challenge ourselves to become more, each one of us has a calling and we must not let it stay with us, it must be shared with the world.
Today the world needs good, with dishonesty and integrity in question more and more, we must develop a mindset to serve the greater good. We must leave this world better for our kids to follow, we must teach them to follow our legacy and develop their own. Decide to leave good positive actions for our future generations to follow. Our future is limitless if we choose to move forward and go to the next level. We were all created to become more I believe we also have the basic foundation to leave a legacy.
Going forward as we leave our mark in history we serve the greater good, pay it forward and act in a manor which is beneficial for all. Some would say leaving a legacy of money is important, however the legacy we all should strive for is that of serving, helping those who are unable to help themselves. We’re not talking about looking for recognition but serving the greater good of humanity.
Building a legacy is part of the bigger picture of life. It keeps us focused and accountable to our actions while aligning our values with the good. Sometimes we focus on small issues which lead to only personal gains, there’s nothing wrong with getting ahead as long as you offer the world something of value. Arising tide raises all ships.
We can build a legacy, or just go through life always looking for something or we can choose to spend each day putting in to the universe. When you give you get.
Begin today, we all have a gift to give to the world, time can be a challenge don’t get discouraged, do what you need to do during the day and focus on what you love to do when you can.
Soon you’ll have more in your life than you can ever imagine!
