When we were kids we all had roll models, could have been a family member, friend, or a actor on T.V. They would wow us with what they knew and how people looked up to them. I can remember how fast my dad could add fractions in his head, it was amazing I always wanted to be like him when it came to numbers. As we grew older we learned how to figure it out right? Well not exactly, truth is most of us learned went to the school of hard knocks! Yup…trial and error over and over again. In many ways each time we’d fail we grew stronger, obstructions became a part of our journey my dad would say you need to put in the time if you want the results, no one is going to hand it to you… Although I knew my dad was right in many ways, one thing I did not always agree with. If you have solved a problem and have knowledge how to solve a problem share what you know with people. That’s not the same as doing it for them all you’d be doing is helping them along their journey. Some would say let them figure it out that’s how you become stronger, although our struggles do help us grow, so do completing a problem and rising above challenges. There will come a day when we all need a hand to move ahead. Not everyday is going to be perfect, in fact some of us will even fail! People get discouraged when things don’t work out, if you know something which...

Thanksgiving is now behind us, Christmas is around the corner the stores are getting more and more full of people looking to purchase that perfect gift for a friend or loved one. Sometimes during this busy season searching for that perfect gift we tend to forget not how lucky we are to have the things we currently have in our lives at this moment. Although we are aware of what we have however have you ever thought about more? Of course we all have there’s nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself, the challenge is we must always remember where we came from. Today our world is spinning faster than ever people are working longer hours with more responsibility as well as much more stress. Along the way we as a society sometimes forget to remember how lucky we are to have the things we currently have, some don’t come with a direct cost, it was paid for by past generations, people gave their lives so we can enjoy the freedoms we experience each day yet we sometimes take them for granted! Never looking back to those people who paid the ultimate price and paid it forward. We must never forget those who gave it all for us to live in this amazing country. They left behind loved ones, children, friends, parents, family, etc…Our ability to create the life we desire is because of all thoseĀ who gave unselfishly and allow us to live free. It’s amazing people feel life has treated them unfair, we are blessed to be here, living in a free country. We do have issues...

If time were money how would you spend it? A question we must ask ourselves as each day goes by. Time, one of those precious gifts life offers us yet for some tends to be taken for granted. Tomorrow morning you woke up a super hero, you might use your powers to stop time…Right? One more day…One more hour…One more minute…One more second. However if there was a way to save time would we use it more efficiently? Or would we fall into the same habits of wasting time? Have you ever thought about the different ways we all tend to not use our time efficiently? Television…Oh my one of my mentors use to call that the automatic income reducer, so true, don’t get me wrong I do like to sit down and watch a movie from time to time, the issue becomes when the TV consumes your life. Come home sit down turn it on relax for a minute right? An hour later we’re still sitting there just relaxing. After supper, or some eat supper in front of the TV, a favorite show is on next thing you know it’s time for bed…Where did the night go? Sound familiar? Time is something we never get back, There’s no way to reverse wasted moments, only way to control wasting time is to realize there is an issue. Bad habits form when there’s not a goal at hand, the next mountain to climb or to expand ourselves and create progress in life. We kick back and become a little bit complacent. Not everyone wastes time, but when we look at...

At some point throughout our lives we’ve all spent time doing some form of physical exercise. It might be going to the gym, out for a walk, riding a bike, swimming, or a run. No matter what form of exercise we’ve done it can be a challenge to get there each day. Life has a way of appearing as our daily day unfolds. Often times a very busy work schedule does not allow much free time to escape tom the gym. Truth is it’s easy to “not exercise” and make up excuses for obstacles which appear in our lives and place blame on external forces to cover for not getting there each day. Over the years I’ve heard some good excuses as to why it was not possible to get to the gym, most time external forces beyond our control become the new norm as to why we don’t follow through with the promises we make to ourselves. There are many reasons why this is, all excuses are equal. It could be a conflict with schedule, long work hours, fatigue at the end of the day, or another force which does not allow for us to find the time. Yet among all excuses fear is not one which we give much thought to…Like a good work out at the gym…No pain no gain…If you and I are going to live life to our true potential we must face our fears. It’s easy to walk away, however when that happens we’re providing ourselves with a temporary solution to a permanent problem. It take courage to stand up to fear, rather...

Throughout the cycle of life at some point we all need help with coping, it could be the loss of a loved one, break up with a spouse, loss of a job or just dealing with life in general. Today life is a challenge, changing work force as well as the pressure of performance within most businesses today. We all attach a meaning to events which we direct an emotional response to. No matter who you are we all experience issues at some point, which leads to stressful situations, anger and even depression however what it means to each one of us is different. You could be angry if your relationship with your partner ended with out explanation, a loss of a career due to a changing economy or just an unexpected change in the lifestyle you live. Bad things just sometimes happen without warning, the challenge is what do we do when life’s storms hit. Our reaction leaves us with a feeling, it’s that feeling we label with a certain event. We must ask ourselves how events influence our life, do unforeseen events defeat us or define us? Challenges will always appear in life, yet for most people those challenges will overwhelm and hold them back from living life to their potential. It’s said when you change the way you look at things the things you look at change! Your story is yet to be written. Some would say life is not fair, while others would say how luck they are to be alive! A few weeks ago I met a couple of friends I knew in high...

Seems like only yesterday my Geography teacher telling us about the difference between the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee. It was one of those stories which we were supposed to listen and pertain it to real life. At least that was what we were supposed to do…Truth is back then most of us had little interest in school, when in class we were more interested in what we were going to do after school that day. I can remember the teacher telling us to pay attention to the “Message.” Like we were smart enough to learn that lesson!! The dead sea is not really a sea at all in fact it is a lake. The salt content is so high that if you were to go swimming there you would float! It has been said that if you were to lay down you would float with out having to move your arms or legs, the salt content is 35 % which translates to roughly 10 times more than normal ocean water. There is no fish, Vegetation, or any life sources around the lake, which is why it is called the Dead Sea. With as much adversity as one can imagine, both seas are actually fed by the river of Jordan, however they are quite different from each other. The Sea of Galilee is located just to the north of the Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee contains, clean water, plenty of fish, as well as many plants. So how can two bodies of water which are fed from the same source be so different? The Sea of...
