A few days ago I attended a meeting which turned out to be very productive for my business, when we were leaving I noticed a man painting a picture out front of the building. This was unusual to see anyone painting a picture of this old run down structure. At first it seemed he could be painting another building however as I approached the sketch it was apparent what he was painting. I stood there for quite a while and watched as he added a little paint here and a little paint there. I’m always amazed how artists can just look at something and create a masterpiece with the stroke of a brush. I could have stood there all day and not said a word as he continued to paint, but I need to know why he choose this building! I asked if he minded that I watched him paint, he replied no not at all pull up a seat and get comfortable. I thought it unusual that he was so friendly. The section of town where this building was located is not a very good section of the city, people tend to keep to themselves. After a while we began a conversation back and forth discussing the weather and baseball and a few other subjects. I did ask him why (I needed to know) he chose this old run down structure to paint. His answer was not what I expected, what do you like about this structure? Yikes I was a loss for words! you know in the art world it’s been said “Beauty is in the eye...

Today more than any other point in time our work ethic must be top notch. Employers are seeking the best as business is much more competitive as past years, we much seek our best each day no matter what position you hold and who you work for. In order to compete for high paying salaries with good benefits we have to stay on our toes, this is the new norm. Yet for some they would rather settle for less, not only in the work place but in life also. There is nothing wrong with being content with a current position, challenge is when we stop stretching ourselves and look for the end of the day instead of what we can do better when our task is completed. When we settle our confidence suffers, our self worth suffers, as well as our ambition to grow. Opportunities are missed as our ability to notice a good path crosses ours…We become less, earn less than we were created to do. Never settle for less than you can do. The good news is you can do something about it. At our core we all seek better, however what do we do to eliminate bad energy? You can make a few changes and embrace challenges. We can rely on our self discipline, self reliance, and self direction by doing a little more each day. There is no substitute for work, we can not sit there and think buy utilizing just affirmations and not take action! We cannot make work to just be done by saying words, and not take action. Success does not just...

We’ve all set goals to hit a target in a period of time. We have also missed those targets and did not complete the goals, however each time we fail to hit that goal we didn’t fail we just became better, stronger and more focused. The challenge is we tend to never look back to see how far we’ve come, instead we look at where we are at this point in time and judge our performance. Needless to say an incomplete task often time can discourage us as well as set us back on our feet and not allow us to self examine our actions. Fear weaves it’s self in the fabric of our soul. It is like a ball and chain we can never get rid of. Unless you let it. In today’s world less and less people are passionate about their work, They’ve heard stories of people who took a chance and failed. Yet if they never took the chance their life would be exactly the same today as it was yesterday. The only difference from yesterday to today is how we communicate, instead of calling on the phone we now text our kids, even Facebook is not utilized as much these day’s to talk to the kids. For us to overcome challenges we must first understand fear is the main reason we shy away from facing an issue. The fear of the unknown as well as failure leaves us in uncharted territory. Truth is fear can be controlled. Not by ignoring issues but looking within to use passion as a vehicle to overcome any issue. Have...

You don’t have to look that far these days to see someone who is stressed out, society is moving toward fast pace, hyper speed, need it done yesterday world. This new mentality is exposing the average person to situation we’ve never experienced before. For the most part we tend to go along with the flow and accept these conditions as part of everyday life. However along the way we need to analyze how we are dealing with this new element and how our health is impacted. Over this past weekend I needed a few things for the house so I went to the store, my wife and I live a fair distance to stores so we must plan our time carefully. Needless to say when I arrived at the store it was very busy, people were in a hurry getting what they needed that day and didn’t waste a minute in between. You could feel the stress around you as people were navigating the isles to get what they need. I bumped into a friend of mine who told me how busy his week was. Interestingly enough the story he told was what the mind set of most people that day in the store. Working long hours with little sleep, a supervisor with heavy demands, a schedule which seemed unreachable, not to mention doing the work of three people…Sound familiar? Stress can be weaved in the fabric of our lives, if left unchecked it can impact our live in a way we which can make us ill. My friend was experiencing that issue. He stated how tired he was...

We all set goals with good intentions of accomplishing each one, we’ve done all the research gathered required tools and resources, put the proper time aside each day like were told kept our minds focused on the result, however for some reason it just didn’t work out. We were so sure all the all the bases were covered and there was no way we were going to fail. Each task was methodically thought out, countless hours were spent each day yet things still did not work. Truth is it is times like these when we need to be our own cheerleader. What we do next after a missed opportunity shapes our future. The easy way out would be to quit and walk away, go back to the life we were living before the decision was made to take a leap of faith. Each one of us knows that is not an option, quitting is a temporary solution to a permanent problem. We need to take responsibility for each situation which doesn’t work out, realize sometimes this just happens so be prepared and accept, move on, each missed goal is there to prepare you for the next one. We can learn from the past, however if we dwell in the past we’ll never move ahead. If things don’t work out the first time, stop, change something, reflect on mistakes you might have made along the way, they are there to teach you along the way, study them and move on. Remember over time you’ll get better, a set back from time to time will only help you grow. Never get...
