Is wealth linked to happiness? Can a person who has never been wealthy learn to become financially free? Does more money make your life better? Many would say having enough money to pay your obligations and still have some to spend would say yes! But if we keep doing what we are currently doing how can life change for the better? In reality if more is what is desired then more is what you must become. The universe rewards the greater good. If we take from it the universe takes from us, if we give we are rewarded with the same. To understand the link between success and failure we must first understand the elements in conjunction with “Assembling The Puzzle Of Personal Development.”
Our first assignment is to evaluate where we are in the world, what we have to add to the greater good and what we need to do to become more. For me personally this was one of the hardest assignments I’ve ever had to do. Determining what my strengths were and what my weakness were and how to address them became quite the experience. On paper it looks like no big deal, however once I began the journey I discovered how challenging it was.
Life is nothing more then an assembling of experiences, yet along the way we tend to miss out on the message life is sending us. It’s not what we get in life it’s what we become along the way.
Our view of where we are in life manifests through our own thoughts, our internal blueprint is obtained and designed by the information we feed our brains. Personal development must be part of each day. We grow when we challenge ourselves. Sitting on the couch watching T.V. and complaining about our current situation can never lead us up the ladder. If we instead channel that energy and read books which expand our minds the sky’s the limit. Personal growth must remain on the front line each day.
In the workplace today it is much more challenging to get ahead. But right now there is some amazing opportunities to excel, in order to move in that direction our blueprint must expand as well. We must be prepared for the unknown and be ready to jump on what ever opportunity presents it’s self each day.
We must also not fall in the trap of constantly getting prepared, and not take action. We must make measurable progress each day, one of the biggest elements of success is progress, if each day we are making progress, we are much more likely to keep moving forward, however if we have no way to gauge our success we are much more likely to fail. Old habits can be a challenge to change. It has been said the best way to break old habits is to replace them with new ones…Why not implement good habits!
Discipline is what makes the framework of personal development. If you and I are to move forward we must apply discipline each day to improving and stretching our minds. Repetition is the mother of all skill, motivation alone will not push you forward, we must be self motivated and grow, read, learn as well as analyze what we can do better.
Three elements of personal development which must be part of daily action. Mind, body and soul. We must be aware of what type of information we feed our minds with each day, limit your time with electronic distractions, replace with a good book or recording. We only get one body so it must be maintained, like our minds we must be aware what we feed it each day. Exercise is equally important to a healthy body, yes, we are all busy, however physical activity can be accomplished within our workplace if we stop and think…Use the elevator to get to the office? how about taking the stairs…At lunchtime go for a 15 minute walk…There are many creative ways to exercise. As always consult your doctor before beginning and physical activity.
Our soul needs to be fed as well, what ever your belief is, spend time each day reflecting and being grateful for the gift of life our creator has given us.
Personal development is a marathon not a sprint. Take your time, look back each week notice how far you’ve come. Set your sights for where you want to be. Remember the only limits in life are those we impose on ourselves!
