If your like most people success is on your mind, could be a simple goal or an aggressive plan with many mountains to climb nevertheless internally we all strive for success. This desire is the fuel for implementing actions which propel forward motion to discover a way to express our inner values for the world to see. If we desire success we will find a way to succeed. With each day we learn a bit more about who we are and why our plan is unique for us. Whenever there is a bump in the road our desire to succeed finds a way around those unforeseen issues. Some say that which doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! In life there are many obstacles which stand in the way, there is never a straight line to the top. Why some succeed and some don’t – is baffling and seems at times unfair. We’ve heard stories of people who came from good families, hung around with the right friends, went to the best schools got degrees, had perfect attitudes, a burning desire to better themselves, yet still struggle in life, live in quiet desperation. When you look at the past they had every opportunity to be at the top of there game. On the other side there are others who seem to just fall into it, never had a good education, have a poor attitude about themselves as well as others, sometimes not honest, however the only thing they have in common with those who have went down the right path in life is a burning desire for success. We all want to look in shape and physically fit and stay active, yet while it’s true exercise is good for our bodies there is one challenge we’re all faced with. Motivation, that is lack of? Going to the gym sounds good and most of us have very good intentions, we sometimes fall short of our goal. Long day at work fatigued late in the afternoon adds to our excuse as to why we’re not able to get there today. I’m busy this afternoon I’ll get there tomorrow night for sure, sound familiar? Truth is we do have many other obligations which need to be addressed every day and should never be ignored. However when it comes to our health we need to take notice. Many years ago when I was much younger, I was given a word of advice regarding my finances. I was young and thought earning more money would fix my financial issues, until one day at lunch an old timer I never spoke to heard my tails of woe , and said, son when you get your paycheck the first bill you should pay is yourself. It did not register at first, but after a few minutes I thought about it, he was right if I pay myself first I’ll always have money, a concept I still utilize today. This methodology can be applied to many areas in life. Health is an area which the same principal can be applied. If we make health our first priority we’ll always have time to get to the gym, or go for a walk, swim, bike or any...

A deep thought to start your week…What will your life look like in 10 years? No matter how hard we try time doesn’t stop, each day which goes by we all grow older, but the road we’re on now it going somewhere, the question is…Where? We can’t ignore the path we’ve taken is based on our decisions and actions. Truth is what if that road we’re on is not what we want? What can we do? Ten years is a long time looking forward, yet looking back seems like yesterday. When I was in my twenties I worked 70-80 hours 6 days a week. I’m not afraid of hard work and long hours, putting in a good days work is good for the soul. You develop discipline and good habits. As the years went by I found myself looking down the road thinking to myself is this what I’ll be doing for the rest of my life? At the time I was surrounded by people working the same hours I was, although much older and wiser they still were in the same job they were in 10 years ago, not moving up the ladder, but stuck in the same job, day in and day out. The older folks who I had the pleasure of working with were fantastic people to learn from, yet when asked what their goal was in the future a look of uncertainty came across their brow. What do you mean? I have a good job with benefits, retirement, and vacation time, what more do I need? Not the answer I was looking for. However that...

A few days ago I attended a meeting which turned out to be very productive for my business, when we were leaving I noticed a man painting a picture out front of the building. This was unusual to see anyone painting a picture of this old run down structure. At first it seemed he could be painting another building however as I approached the sketch it was apparent what he was painting. I stood there for quite a while and watched as he added a little paint here and a little paint there. I’m always amazed how artists can just look at something and create a masterpiece with the stroke of a brush. I could have stood there all day and not said a word as he continued to paint, but I need to know why he choose this building! I asked if he minded that I watched him paint, he replied no not at all pull up a seat and get comfortable. I thought it unusual that he was so friendly. The section of town where this building was located is not a very good section of the city, people tend to keep to themselves. After a while we began a conversation back and forth discussing the weather and baseball and a few other subjects. I did ask him why (I needed to know) he chose this old run down structure to paint. His answer was not what I expected, what do you like about this structure? Yikes I was a loss for words! you know in the art world it’s been said “Beauty is in the eye...
