When we were kids we all had roll models, could have been a family member, friend, or a actor on T.V. They would wow us with what they knew and how people looked up to them. I can remember how fast my dad could add fractions in his head, it was amazing I always wanted to be like him when it came to numbers. As we grew older we learned how to figure it out right? Well not exactly, truth is most of us learned went to the school of hard knocks! Yup…trial and error over and over again. In many ways each time we’d fail we grew stronger, obstructions became a part of our journey my dad would say you need to put in the time if you want the results, no one is going to hand it to you… Although I knew my dad was right in many ways, one thing I did not always agree with. If you have solved a problem and have knowledge how to solve a problem share what you know with people. That’s not the same as doing it for them all you’d be doing is helping them along their journey. Some would say let them figure it out that’s how you become stronger, although our struggles do help us grow, so do completing a problem and rising above challenges. There will come a day when we all need a hand to move ahead. Not everyday is going to be perfect, in fact some of us will even fail! People get discouraged when things don’t work out, if you know something which...

Not that long ago I was asked how successful people become so smart. How can one whom preforms below average in school become a millionaire yet a student in the same school who always had straight “A’s” graduates and goes onto college earns a degree and still doesn’t become wealthy. Could it be in the genetics? Or maybe they had poor leadership from their circle of influence. Truth is no matter who you are or what your background is, you can become wealthy as long as you… Success leaves us all clues, challenge is we sometimes ignore them. We have become a society of preoccupied citizens. Which means no matter where we are or what we’re doing we all choose to become people of a distracted society. Cell phones, text messaging and many other types of electronic distractions that put our focus on the wrong things. For the most part people we all desire to be healthy, eat right, get the right amount of sleep. Don’t forget some sort of physical activity to keep you in shape. All great ways to keep your edge. One area we could all use some help with is: Reading, we all do read, yet most think reading new books is boring or a waste of time. When in reality, books have a very unique way to keep our minds expanding no matter what the subject matter is. Books are more available now then ever before. Like health and diet we must be very aware of what we put in our bodies, if we put in garbage what do you think comes out? Now...

Although there are a few week until this year is over it’s not too early to start reflecting on how this past year went. If your like most people we tend to think about the past however we don’t review our plan and how we preformed. This is largely due to the fact we keep looking to next year for a better outcome which is good to look ahead with optimism yet we fall short when it comes to what we did in the past to get to where we are today. This week I sat in a meeting with a company I do business with. The purpose of the meeting was to determine what the goals were for 2019. What was interesting about our meeting was the detailed look at 2018, you’d think by looking where they ended up would allow a birds eye view into the future right? Often times it can when the company is growing and being profitable. On the other hand when the view isĀ negative you’d think the next year will be bad as well right? It is true if you continue to follow the same business model going forward as the past. The end result is the same. This pattern is the same for business as it is in our personal lives. As we age we develop a pattern, go to work come home, day in and day out, like a hamster on a wheel that goes round and round. For us to break the pattern we must change our approach to our every day lives, determine where we are and how...

Thanksgiving is now behind us, Christmas is around the corner the stores are getting more and more full of people looking to purchase that perfect gift for a friend or loved one. Sometimes during this busy season searching for that perfect gift we tend to forget not how lucky we are to have the things we currently have in our lives at this moment. Although we are aware of what we have however have you ever thought about more? Of course we all have there’s nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself, the challenge is we must always remember where we came from. Today our world is spinning faster than ever people are working longer hours with more responsibility as well as much more stress. Along the way we as a society sometimes forget to remember how lucky we are to have the things we currently have, some don’t come with a direct cost, it was paid for by past generations, people gave their lives so we can enjoy the freedoms we experience each day yet we sometimes take them for granted! Never looking back to those people who paid the ultimate price and paid it forward. We must never forget those who gave it all for us to live in this amazing country. They left behind loved ones, children, friends, parents, family, etc…Our ability to create the life we desire is because of all thoseĀ who gave unselfishly and allow us to live free. It’s amazing people feel life has treated them unfair, we are blessed to be here, living in a free country. We do have issues...

Not too many years ago my mentor gave a piece of advice to me which to this day I’ve never forgot. If you fail to plan then you are planning to fail. We’ve all had goals over the years going as far back as childhood. Although simple we set a goal and worked our plan to get there…Ever wanted to stay over a friends house but waited until the right time to ask mom? Or that new bike you walked by each time you went to the store, remember how it felt thinking about how awesome it would be riding it around the neighborhood, popping wellies and riding one handed? People would look in awe. Like we already had the bike at hand. We worked all summer to earn enough money to buy that bike! Our goal was that bike our action plan was to work and save money to buy the bike-It worked! We saved our nickles and pennies, before long we had the money to get that bike. It doesn’t matter how small the goal is, if we have a vision of what we want, chances are we’ll find a way to overcome the odds and get it done!! Challenge is we sometimes fall short of our goals when the plan is vague and not focused. If you and I are to life a of passion, we must find out what we want. Once we’ve determined what it is we desire, next step is develop a plan. Remember, it’s different for each of us no two people have the same dreams and goals. It’s what makes the...

What is the secret of words and emotion? Is it limited to the English language? French? Spanish? or another language which utilize words with different meanings? The question is what drives language. Words do have different meaning however when combined with emotions such as hate, love, anger are all part of emotions. When fueled with emotion issues become created or solved. Today language around the world is different in how they are spoken as well as how they are interpreted, yet with all language spoken on a different platform, the meanings behind the words is the same. If we were to go to china and listen to how people communicate most of would not understand a word of what they were saying. But if we observe their emotions you’d understand when someone was angry or happy. Even in other languages each emotion is different with each word they choose. We sometimes don’t realize when we speak the words we utilize have completely different meanings yet we speak them in the same sentence. Have you ever told someone you loved them but also told them I hate you have to go to work at that job? Two completely different words with completely different meanings yet we say them frequently! The challenge is the combination of words and emotion has an effect on the point we are attempting to get across to a person, if we power a word with too much emotion the point is over done, or we don’t attach enough emotion to a word our outcome could not be what we expect. Leaders know when speaking in front...
